As a 501 ( C ) 3 nonprofit
organization we are always in need of help from the community. There
are many ways that you can help the ACSPCA; such as volunteering,
donating items or fundraising opportunities. Below is a shelter
wish list, and below that are fundraising opportunities for the
community that will help the animals. Thank you for your support.
Wish List
Horse Treats - no apples or carrots
Cat Food
(Canned and Dry)
Kitten Chow
Cat Litter (Clay)
Yesterday's News Cat Litter
Dog Treats (soft kind)
Dog Food (Canned and Dry)
Dog Food (Canned and Dry) While we appreciate
everyone's generosity, please do not donate "Old Roy" and "Purina Dog
Chow" dog foods. We cannot use them. These foods may work well for your
pet but they do not digest easily in dogs who may have been starved
or have digestive disorders. "Purina One" sensitive systems formula
is best for such animals and it's what our vet recommends to get all
our canine friends back to good health.
Bleach

Other Donation Options

Shelter
Wish List (print)
Help an animal with special needs!!!

Donation for animals
with special needs: The shelter frequently takes in animals with
a variety of medical needs that may require emergency surgery or other
specialized veterinary treatments. Hit by car, animals that have been
shot, animal cruelty, animal neglect, serious injuries - these are
just a few examples. We do not have the facilities or an in-house
Veterinarian to handle these types of emergencies. These types of
costly vet bills strain an already overtaxed budget. We're hoping
this special fund will help defray these emergency costs. We need
the support of our community, let's work together to give these animals
a second chance!!

Shelters are extremely stressful
to cats awaiting a forever home

Imagine living in a small
metal cage, in an unfamiliar place, with your worst enemy barking
in the background!
Imperial Cat wants to help, they have developed Scratch 'n Bits, a
line of low-cost, high quality scratching pads for use in animal shelters.
Scratch 'n Bits are designed to fit within the small space of a shelter
cage and many feature cute designs and "Adopt Me" labels to encourage
potential adopters to take home a "friendly," "sweet" and "loyal"
kitty.
You can help our cats through their Scratch 'n Bits program! For only
$25.00 (with shipping included), Imperial Cat will send a case of
15 assorted Scratch 'n Bits direct to the shelter of your choice.
To place an order, please call Kristie at 501-354-8466 (Sorry, NO

Sponsorships Available
The SPCA receives approximately 8% of its annual operating budget of $500,000 from the county and municipalities combined! We do fundraising, memberships, grant writing and receive some bequests, but we continue to struggle to support the very important task of caring for the many animals that come through our doors.
By sponsoring one of our annual events, you are part of the solution to change the world we live in for the better. The Animals Thank You!
Each year, we hold 4 major fundraisers and attend several smaller events. Each year, we have our Pledged Loyalty Walk in April. It is known within our community and has been for 18 + years. Each year, it draws more attention and gets bigger & better. In November, we have an annual Dinner Gala & Auction. It is a formal dinner & dining experience with entertainment and a recap of the year in video. As well as many, assorted valuable new & antique items for auction. Just in time to start your holiday shopping while helping the animals directly.
Then in the fall, we have a big Basket Bingo- Longaberger items and
more!
We will try to promote our sponsor's support the best we can. We list our sponsors in media advertisements, flyers/brochures, on our website and are willing to display/offer your business cards, brochures or information at the event in which you are a sponsor.
Not only are you assisting us in helping these unwanted animals, you
can create more exposure for your business. We have over 1,500 members
currently, and that increases each year. A new feature we are putting
together in 2010, is a link on our website, in which we will list
our business sponsors and a direct link to their website, if you choose
for this option.
Sponsorships may be private, personal or business. You can request for us "not" to list your name or business. We just get overly excited to have sponsors, that we wish to show you off !
In order for our fundraising events to be profitable and beneficial
for our animals, we need to maintain the event expense to a minimum.
That's why the support is needed and greatly appreciated. Our staff
and many volunteers work really hard to make the shelter a better
place for the animals that find their way to us. The animals don't
choose to be here, but they do deserve a second chance for a better
life and a loving, new home. We could not do this, without the continued
support of our community members and our the friends of the animals.
We do our best, to keep our website "Calendar of Events" current. As events become available for sponsorship, you will see a " Sponsor Me " button listed under that event details. Transactions may be made online or by check. Make checks payable to the ACSPCA and jot a note, in the memo, to note your sponsorship. You may mail, drop off, or email your business information to us, that you wish for us to display at the chosen sponsored event.
Remember, all donations are Tax-Deductible. We will be happy to provide
a receipt, if requested, for tax purposes. Just be sure to let us
know. We wish for this to benefit the animals the best way it can.
By sponsoring one of our annual events, you are part of the solution
to change the world these animals live in, for the better. The Animals
Thank You!

Corporate Matching Program
Another way to make your donation dollars stretch is a Corporate
Matching Program. Many employers are willing to match the charitable
contributions of their employees. Matching gifts are usually matched
dollar for dollar (often by just completing a simple company form).
So check out your company rules, please inquire at your employer's Human
Resources or Personnel Department to determine if you have a Matching
Gift Program and help the animals twice as much!
Attention all Landlords!!!!
The Adams County SPCA
is seeking to list "animal-friendly" landlords on our website. If
you already allow your tenants to have pets or are thinking of making
your housing available to renters with pets - please consider being
listed as a resource. Many people that are moving are very limited
in the rental housing that is available to them that allows pets.
Currently more and more people are being affected in a negative
way as the mortgage crisis causes the loss of their homes and too
often their beloved pets as well. A responsible pet owner should
never have to be forced to make a decision that has negative consequences
for both the pet and the owner. The Adams County SPCA can provide
landlords with tips on how to screen potential pet owning tenants,
sample referral letters, resumes, etc. Be a part of the solution
to ending pet homelessness!
If you are interested, please call the Adams County SPCA at 717-334-8876
