Annual Dinner Gala & Auction raises $10,000

On October 22, 2011 the
SPCA had its Annual Benefit Dinner Gala and Auction at the 1863 Inn
of Gettysburg (formerly the Holiday Inn). Owner of the Inn, Mr. Wilbur
Knox and Biggerstaff's Catering sponsored the entire affair for the
fourth year in a row with 100% of Proceeds benefited to the Rick and
Sally Meyers Animal Shelter, Adams County SPCA. A Special Thanks goes
out to Kay Lawyer the Sales Director for the 1863 Inn.
Auctioneers,
Larry and Jimmy Peters donated their expertise as the auctioneers
of the evening. Special thanks to Mr. Knox and to the 1863 Inn staff
for donating their time to provide a wonderful meal and service for
an enjoyable and successful event. There was a good turn out of attendees
and the evening was a success, raising much needed funds for the animals.
The Board of Directors, Shelter Staff, and Volunteers sincerely appreciate
those who purchased tickets, provided items for our auction, gave
a monetary donation, or helped with the event in any way during these
difficult economic times! Support from our community is most important
to us!

Rusty had a great Birthday Party and a big fundraiser for the ACSPCA!

For those who do not know, Rusty is a rescued Golden Retriever
and partial owner of the Adams County winery.
Happy Birthday Rusty
and thanks for hosting this birthday event!!! Hundreds of dogs &
people came out to celebrate Rusty's Birthday bringing a truck load
of donations for the orphans at the shelter. Everyone enjoyed a beautiful
day of music, a Doggie Fashion Show, Dancing with the Doggie Stars,
an Obstacle Course, good food, lots of vendors and great wine!!!!
There is still time to purchase your specialty bottle of "Make Adoption
Your First Option" bottle of wine and to have a label made from your
pet's photo and put onto a bottle of wine of your choice (for only
$3 above the price of the wine). $1 will be donated to the SPCA for
both of the specialty labeled wine sold. You will be able to cast
your vote soon for your favorite furry friend on our website, at the
shelter and at the winery. The winning photo will be featured on Rusty's
Red as Rusty's special guest, which will be sold during the month
of August.
